I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to debate the following urgent matter, namely, that the Electoral Area Boundary Committee did not adhere to the terms of reference set by the Minister in respect of County Kerry. The terms of reference clearly state that the committee is required to take into account a number of factors, including the desirability of having electorally preserved natural communities or hinterlands of populations areas. However, in one example, the electoral division of Drummin has been transferred to the Dingle electoral area from Killorglin even though Killorglin was under populated already — one has to drive through Drummin to get to Killorglin.
