I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Thomas McEllistrim — to call on the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to establish a special squad in the Garda to deal with anti-social behaviour and public disorder and to strongly urge the Minister to introduce this squad on a pilot basis in Tralee town; (2) Deputy Andrew Doyle — to raise the issue of Government funding of research for the treatment of muscular dystrophy particularly relating to UK exon skipping trials; (3) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin — the need for all relevant information to be forwarded to the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse; (4) Deputy Catherine Byrne — the need to address the problem of illiteracy; (5) Deputies Simon Coveney, Bernard Allen and Kathleen Lynch — current medical practices at Cork University Hospital; and (6) Deputy Deirdre Clune — the need to ensure that sufficient funds are provided by the HSE to meet the needs of school leavers with special needs requiring placement in adult facilities next September in the Cork region.

The matters raised by Deputies Simon Coveney, Bernard Allen and Kathleen Lynch, Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin and Deputy Catherine Byrne have been selected for discussion.
