I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the threat to the lives of innocent people throughout the country, caused by the Government's inaction on rising crime rates which leave nobody immune from violent crime, even in their own homes, as horrifically demonstrated by the recent death of an 83 year old man in Kilbeggan, County Westmeath, last weekend.
