Joanna Tuffy (Dublin Mid West, Labour)

This is one of three directives, according to the Minister's reply, that is outstanding for transposition into environmental law. It is one of 29 infringements about which the Commission has been in contact with the Department. There is a strong possibility that Ireland may be referred to the European Court of Justice this year and fined if the legislation is not given priority.
