I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need to extend for another year the farm waste management scheme which is due to finish in December 2008 due to the fact that many of the on-farm works will not be completed in that period and the important role which the scheme has played in protecting the general environment and assisting farmers in complying with the relevant regulations.
