Question 85: To ask the Minister for Health and Children her views on the recent comments by the Irish Hospital Consultants Association that the new consultants contract is deficient in many areas and does not reflect the agreement announced in January 2008; the aspects of the agreement reached in January 2008 that were omitted from the proposed contract; if a revised contract will be presented to the consultants; when she expects the Health Service Executive to begin recruiting consultants; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
