Question 86: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on the headline crime statistics for 2007, published by the Central Statistic Office on 28 January 2008, which showed an increase of 2% in the level of serious crime over the previous year and an increase of 6% in the final quarter and, in particular, the increase in the number of murders; the steps he will take to deal with the increase in crime; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
