As the Deputy has repeatedly and correctly pointed out in the House, we are dealing with extraordinarily obdurate people in the Burmese junta, who care little for the international view of them, whether it is positive or negative. The reality is that in the Security Council and in that region large states adjacent to this country will have a significant role to play in bringing the peace and democracy that the people of Burma so urgently require.
