Order of Business
5:00 pm
Michael D'Arcy (Wexford, Fine Gael)
I ask the Taoiseach about drinking water regulations. When penalties were introduced under section 21 and 22 of up to €500,000 for farmers and for local authorities, how come the same penalties were not introduced for businesses? It has been widely reported that some businesses can be prosecuted only under summary conviction in the District Court with a maximum fine of €3,000. There is an incredible inequity evident between different sectors of society.
