Members of the House will remember as I do that one of the turning points of the extremely tight Nixon-Kennedy campaign in 1960 was when a poster of an unshaven Richard Nixon was put out with the caption, "Would you buy a used car from this man?" A number of people will look at the Minister for Finance, Deputy Brian Cowen and wonder whether it is appropriate here.
