Michael Ring (Mayo, Fine Gael)

I thank the Leas-Cheann Comhairle for protecting me. I listened to such words from every Fianna Fáil backbencher but defended them on the basis that, when they got into government, the Greens would not get all their policies adopted but would have to toe the line like other parties. However, I never thought the Green Party Members would twist the way they are twisting now.

I will be honest and open and say that I would have loved if they were in government with Fine Gael. I defended that and I was hoping it would happen. Had I known they would be so easy to deal with, I would have defended them even more.
