What are the implications for the current staff of the various committees if those committees will in effect be stood down between now and the end of September? In his capacity as ex officio chairperson of the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission, the Ceann Comhairle might consider the matter and report to the House tomorrow. I am sure there are other tasks to be done, but I would hate to think that, because of our inability to form committees, the resources of the House will be underdeployed.
