Co-location of Hospitals: Motion (Resumed).
8:00 pm
Bernard Durkan (Kildare North, Fine Gael)
In one minute it is not possible to describe the full degree of my revulsion at the proposal, but I will do my best. In the aftermath of the general election, the Government is ignoring the will of the people. I do not know what people said to the Government candidates, but in the course of the election, not a single person said to us that a great job was being done on the health service, that they agreed with co-location, the closure of St. Luke's Hospital or the relocation of the National Children's Hospital. No one in the country made such a statement, as far as I am aware. We have done our best to make the case and bring the issue to public attention. God help the Government Deputies if they ignore it.
