Air Transport Agreement: Motion
10:00 pm
Jan O'Sullivan (Limerick East, Labour)
——-the appropriate lead-in time in regard to the open skies agreement that everybody in the region was expecting. We were expecting to get at least two years if not three or more years but we are only getting one year. We were expecting to have the economic and tourism development plan in place well before open skies would come into effect so that the support structures for the region, as recommended by the body, could be set up under the mid-west regional authority. We were also expecting that the Minister would produce this feasibility study on the rail link within some reasonable length of time and not on the eve of a general election but I do not know whether he will publish it before the election.
