Having consulted the Whips, I would like to make provision for a break and an extension of the debate on the Criminal Justice Bill 2007. I move:

"That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders or the order of the Dáil of this day: (1) the sitting shall be suspended between 1 p.m. and 1.30 p.m.; (2) the proceedings on No. 18 shall, if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion at 4 p.m. by one question which shall be put from the Chair and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only those set down or accepted by the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform; and (3) the proceedings on Second Stage of No. 1 shall, if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion at 5.20 p.m. The speeches shall be confined to a Minister or Minister of State and to the main spokespersons for the Fine Gael Party, the Labour Party and the Technical Group who shall be called upon in that order and who may share their time, which shall not exceed 15 minutes in each case and a Minister or Minister of State shall be called upon to make a speech in reply which shall not exceed five minutes".
