Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31
Michael D Higgins (Galway West, Labour)
In accordance with Standing Order 31, I wish to give notice to move the adjournment of the Dáil to discuss the following specific and important matter of public interest, namely, the urgent need for the Irish Government to recognise and open dialogue with the unity government of Palestine and, moreover, to use its position within the European Union to encourage the Union to open such a dialogue and to lift the sanctions imposed against Palestine so as to ensure that this latest opportunity for peace will not be squandered.
