Health Bill 2006: Second Stage
6:00 pm
Jimmy Devins (Sligo-Leitrim, Fianna Fail)
I am delighted to have this opportunity to speak on the Bill. Before doing so, however, I refer briefly to another issue that has dominated the headlines in recent weeks — namely the decision to locate the new national children's hospital on the Mater Hospital site. Deputy Burton raised the issue of Thornton Hall. One of the reasons Thornton Hall would not be considered is because there is not an adult hospital in the locality.
