Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31

10:30 am

Jerry Cowley (Mayo, Independent)

I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need for Government to provide sufficient funds to the HSE, west, so that it can transport older people in Mayo to hospital for essential appointments instead of older people having to borrow sums of €110 each way to make their way by taxi from Achill Island to University College Hospital, Galway, for these essential appointments when the HSE, west, already has insufficient funds from Government to run the emergency ambulance service.
