Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31

I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the post office network which is heavily dependent on four corporate clients or areas for most of its revenue — social welfare payments, TV licences, bill payment and savings. The reason this network is deteriorating is the lack of support from the Government. The post offices in rural areas are vital to communities and in most areas they are the only contact people would have with the outside world. It is my opinion that everything must be done to retain the post office network in rural Ireland.
