I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Kirk — the need for a reappraisal of the acute staffing problems in certain areas of the health service in the north east; (2) Deputy Ferris — to discuss the situation of those who were part of the early retirement scheme for farmers; (3) Deputy Walsh — to discuss the unfair burden of VAT on charities; (4) Deputy Crawford — the need for the Minister to advise farmers and solicitors regarding the implications concerning area aid and single payment structures; (5) Deputy Finian McGrath — the need for a public inquiry into the Stardust fire tragedy in view of the new evidence that has emerged; (6) Deputy Cooper-Flynn — the need to establish a specific Department for the elderly with responsibility being allocated to a designated Minister; (7) Deputy Harkin — to discuss the provision of a new community school in Ballinamore, County Leitrim and a new school in Dromore West, County Sligo; and (8) Deputy Broughan — the need for the Minister to agree urgently to the establishment of a new commission of inquiry into the Stardust disaster.

The matters raised by Deputies Finian McGrath, Broughan, Kirk and Crawford have been selected for discussion.
