I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the serious crisis in regard to the compilation of the electoral register in Cork East and other areas as a result of which thousands of people have been removed from the electoral register, including many who have been on the register at the same address for many years; and the urgent need for the Government to take action to extend the date for checking and seeking corrections to the register beyond the deadline of 25 November.
