I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the serious crisis in regard to the compilation of the electoral register in County Wicklow and other areas as a result of which thousands of people have been removed from the register, including many who have been on the register at the same address for many years and the urgent need for the Government to take action to extend the date for checking and seeking corrections to the register beyond the deadline of 25 November. I too would like to hear a statement from the Taoiseach on the matter.
