Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the serious crisis in regard to the compilation of the electoral register throughout the country as a result of which hundreds of thousands of people have been removed from the electoral register, including many who have been on the register at the same address for many years; the consequences for our democratic system of a general election being conducted on the basis of such an inaccurate register; and the urgent need for the Government to take action to extend the date for checking and seeking corrections to the register beyond the deadline of 25 November.
