Government Record: Motion (Resumed).
7:00 pm
John O'Donoghue (Kerry South, Fianna Fail)
In 1987, 1989, 1992, 1997 and 2002 Fine Gael sought the endorsement of the people and the people said "no". Each time Fine Gael substituted policy with a chant of "go on, go on, go on" and each time the response was "no", "no", "no". After the last election, the 33 "no's" turned into 33 lost seats.
