I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, to examine the reasons the Government refused the Standards in Public Office Commission powers to investigate allegations of corruption or wrongdoing and the need to combat the ingrained cultural acceptance of corruption in Ireland, according to Transparency International.
