I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the findings of the Dalton report, the issues raised as a result of this report; the wider implications for the greyhound racing industry; the wider issues regarding Government investment in sports whereby, incredibly, 37% of all sports funding goes to the horse and greyhound racing industries; and the need for the Government and, particularly, the Minister for Arts, Sports and Tourism to make a full statement in the House in advance of the recess.
