I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the urgent need for the Dáil to discuss the deteriorating situation in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, the unilateral actions that will result in civilian casualties and deaths, the arbitrary detention of elected legislators and members of government in the Palestinian territories and the need for such international intervention as will secure the safe release of hostages both military and civilian.
