With regard to the democratic deficit now operating in the health services, has the Tánaiste any intention of introducing legislative amendments to the Health Act establishing the HSE, given that there is not just no element of democratic control but no element of democratic accountability? We cannot get answers within any kind of reasonable period on any issue of any significance. Will the Tánaiste evaluate the performance of the legislation to date and return some element of democratic accountability to the House?
