Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

10:30 am

Paudge Connolly (Cavan-Monaghan, Independent)

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the inordinate delay in the introduction of a national immunisation database to replace the existing 50 separate databases which result in the duplication of patients' vaccination records; the failure of the Health Service Executive to sanction the €19 million required for the project; the consequent difficulties created for agencies such as the National Disease Surveillance Centre in endeavouring to estimate uptake rates accurately; and calls on the Government to resolve these difficulties forthwith by expediting the provision of the national immunisation database as a matter of urgency.
