If the backbenchers are happy with what is going on, they do not want to be returned to the House because I know the message that will be sent by the people in the next election. Thanks be to God the people of Clare were not conned and I am delighted they saw through the Government parties during the last election campaign. They will see through them again next year when I am returned to represent their interests and speak out on their behalf. I call on the Government backbenchers to support the Opposition and vote down this disgraceful motion of confidence in the Minister.
