Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
12:00 pm
Trevor Sargent (Dublin North, Green Party)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of urgent national importance, namely, the need to hear the response of the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to the views of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform that the climate change related emissions trading regimes should not put an environmentally friendly cement producer at a competitive disadvantage and the need to ensure that the "polluter pays" principle applies when the bill of more than €1 billion is charged to the State.
