Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
12:00 pm
Séamus Healy (Tipperary South, Independent)
I request the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a specific matter of local and national importance requiring urgent consideration, namely the need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to abolish water charges on schools. In what can only be described as a ridiculous and outrageous situation schools are being charged for water on a commercial basis as if they were businesses, and parents and boards of management are being forced to raise funds by way of quizzes and raffles to pay for it.
