I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to clarify the exact negotiating stance she adopted during last November's EU Agriculture Council during negotiations to overhaul the sugar regime given the subsequent closure of the Irish Sugar plant at Mallow and to state the efforts she made to save the industry in recent months.
