Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
5:00 pm
Michael D Higgins (Galway West, Labour)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, a matter I raised previously in November 2003 on the Adjournment, namely, the urgent need for the Minister for the Environment to publish a report on the health, safety and basic conditions of Traveller halting sites, including transient halting sites, and in particular the condition of Carrowbrowne halting site, Headford Road, Galway; the timescale for the works proposed at this site and the failure of conditions to meet even the most basic health and safety minimum standards.
