Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
11:00 am
Séamus Healy (Tipperary South, Independent)
I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need for the Government to recognise the contribution made by carers to Irish society, working 3 million hours each week and saving the State over €1.5 million a year, by significantly increasing the carer's allowance to €190 per week, allowing dual eligibility for carer's allowance and social welfare payments, and granting a full medical card to all full-time carers.
