Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
10:30 am
Paudge Connolly (Cavan-Monaghan, Independent)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of national importance, namely, the recent Shape of the World survey into the correlation between waist size and heart disease, the necessity to safeguard the public from the consequences of waistline obesity and calls for the implementation of the recommendations of the national task force on obesity to ensure the banning of junk food and vending machines in primary schools, the achievement of at least 30 minutes dedicated physical activity daily and the promotion of access to healthy food.
