Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

3:00 pm

Paudge Connolly (Cavan-Monaghan, Independent)

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of urgent public and national concern, namely, the unanimous call by all seven consultant surgeons at Cavan and Monaghan general hospitals for the immediate restoration of acute surgical emergency services at Monaghan General Hospital, the implications of the consultant surgeons' appeal for surgical services in the Cavan and Monaghan area, the fact the consultants' letters amount to an admission that the steering group committee is wrong in this matter and that the CEOs' configuration of health services is not operating properly in the area.
