Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 1.
10:30 am
Trevor Sargent (Dublin North, Green Party)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate a matter of urgent national importance, namely, to allow the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Deputy Noel Dempsey, explain to the House how objections to the Corrib gas pipeline sent to the Department were not passed on to the Minister's Corrib gas technical advisory group and in the light of evidence at the belated public hearing that in the event of a gas leak from the pipe any person within one mile would be killed, that the Dáil should put forward alternatives to the reckless course of action being pursued by the Government and Shell in Erris, County Mayo.
