Leaders' Questions.
4:00 pm
Mary Harney (Dublin Mid West, Progressive Democrats)
Deputy Sargent makes a strong case for the greater programme in schools in regard to alcohol. The new social and personal health programme aims to help young people develop self-esteem, be more confident and learn to say "no", and to address the role of parents. These issues are important. It is not simply a matter of banning advertising by the industry. If the voluntary code does not work we will legislate.
