I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of local and national importance, namely, the failure of the Government to follow through on the agreement with the IFA made prior to the 2002 general election regarding the procurement of land and property to allow the building of roads and infrastructure in general, which is not being implemented in spirit or reality. These property owners are being forced through compulsory purchase orders to sell their property regardless of damage to their long-term viability, and deserve reasonable treatment, compensation and the opportunity of roll-over tax.
