Civil Service Regulation (Amendment) Bill 2004: Report Stage.
6:00 pm
Joan Burton (Dublin West, Labour)
The Minister of State is allowing an incredible loss of public confidence in our democracy. It is also a terrible waste of money because when wrongdoing in the public service festers, it poisons activity and often results in another tribunal at huge public cost. The unwillingness of the Minister of State's party to accept a reform that exists in most European countries is disappointing. When we enter Government, we will ensure the outcome changes.
