I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to require an explanation from Government as to why the legislation to regulate charities has not seen the light of day even though the Costello report on this issue was published in 1990 and in the meantime very many concerns have arisen relating to charities such as the ISPCC, Gorta and more recently the Christina Noble Foundation, not to mention Taca Fáil under the direct management of Fianna Fáil and still the Government has produced nothing other than a promise of legislation with a deadline for publication which constantly moves ahead.
