Fur Farming (Prohibition) Bill 2004: Second Stage (Resumed).
8:00 pm
John Gormley (Dublin South East, Green Party)
The Green Party's Private Members' Bill to ban fur farming in Ireland is a modest and sensible proposal. While it does not strike a major blow for animal rights, it is a step in the right direction for basic animal welfare. It is disappointing and regrettable that the Government has seen fit to shoot it down without proper consideration of its merits.
