Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

10:30 am

Paudge Connolly (Cavan-Monaghan, Independent)

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, that people in receipt of State and social welfare payments, which are seen as the minimum survival threshold, do not qualify for medical cards due to the unrealistic level of the current medical card guidelines; and the urgent need for a comprehensive overhaul and restructuring of the guidelines to enable low-income families to qualify.
