I appeal for those in County Mayo who have left the land in their thousands in recent times due to their failure to eke out a living on the land. Those left on the land struggle to remain by supplementing their meagre incomes with off-farm employment. There are those who do not care one iota if the entire west of Ireland dies out. I care. To hell with the begrudgers, who have a difficulty with the fact that I care. I am doing the job I was elected to do.
