I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following matter of national importance, namely, the policy of An Post to close and run down rural post offices thereby depriving local communities of vital services and, in particular, the recent decision of An Post management to close and sell Cahir post office and to franchise out the services, and to allow the Minister to make a statement on the matter.
