I seek the adjournment of the House under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of vital national interest: the recent disclosure in the Sunday Independent and Irish Independent newspapers relating to allegations of energy price hiking to the effect that gas and electricity prices are being regulated upward and in such a way as to impact negatively on industrial and domestic consumers and to the detriment of the competitiveness of the economy.
