Twenty-seventh Amendment of the Constitution Bill 2004: Second Stage (Resumed).
10:30 am
Charlie O'Connor (Dublin South West, Fianna Fail)
We should understand that some of the scenes in the Dáil yesterday did no great service to the political system. People are talking about the polls to be held 49 days from tomorrow and how the public will react. People appear to be needlessly worried about how the public will react. Members of the Irish public have proved time and time again that they have the capability to understand issues and make decisions.
