To clarify, the trust had an obligation to accept nominations from the Minister. The key concern in that regard was to ensure the board was addressing the governance issues identified and meeting the conditions attached to the exceptional funding provided. Initially, the board was waiting on the outcome of the regulatory investigations. From our work with the oversight group and the trust, it was clear that the board was bringing in new expertise, and that continued to be the case under the new chair. We can see the calibre of the people brought onto the board. They are significant people with significant experience. That said, the Department is reserving its position on the nominations.
