There is a professional endorsement body that operates on an all-island basis called North-South Education and Training Standards. It professionally endorses youth work education at third level on the island of Ireland. Those courses are delivered in Maynooth University, UCC, DkIT and Ulster University. It is a collaborative process involving work to develop the standards and the professional formation requirements that individuals who want to go into the youth work profession need in order to do the work.
